Why Hire a Professional Organizer?
There are a number of reasons to hire a professional organizer but some of the top reasons are:
  • You feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.
  • Your space causes anxiety & decreases productivity.
  • You waste money buying things you already own but can’t find them.
  • You struggle to let go of things & lack storage.
  • You are always straightening things up yet your space is still cluttered.
  • Circumstances like a move, raising a family, a loved one’s passing.

How should I prepare for our virtual consultation?
Spend a few minutes writing down your in home problem areas and think about how you will feel once we accomplish your organizing goals.

Do I need to be home during an organizing session? 
For our initial session, yes. I recommend that we work together. We can discuss future organizing appointments. 

How long are sessions?
For smaller projects like a pantry or linen closet, sessions can be hourly. 
For larger projects like Downsizing & Decluttering, organizing sessions are 3 hours each with a max of 2 sessions per day. Example: First session, from 8am-11am, with a 1-3 hour break in between followed by an afternoon session.

On average 2-3 hours is enough time to complete smaller projects. For larger projects, it is best to break up into multiple sessions. This allows us to make significant progress without getting burnt out.


How many sessions will it take to organize my space?
This is a very difficult question to answer because every project is different and can range from a few hours to days or weeks. The speed of completion depends largely on your ability to make decisions. It will also depend on the size and contents in the space, the number of interruptions, and so on. 


Will you take pictures?
Yes. Part of the process is taking photos of the space before and after so that we have a reference for what we have accomplished. Confidentiality is foremost, so rest assured we will never share your photos without your permission.


What is considered clutter?
Clutter is anything we don’t need, want, or use. It is anything that takes our time, energy, space and/or negatively affects our finances. 


Will you make me throw away everything?
Absolutely not! We will work together to determine what items you need and what items no longer have a purpose.

Cleaning Service vs Professional Organizer?
Cleaning Services help when your house is dirty. Professional Organizers help when your house is cluttered or needs organization. A professional organizer will not be cleaning your home. Instead, I work with you to understand the organizing problem and your organizing goals. 

What is your service area?
Madison & Surrounding Areas including cities up to 60 minutes away from Sauk City. 


What is your policy on confidentiality?
I take your confidentially seriously. The contract ensures the privacy of my clients. I will not discuss your business with anyone, share photos of your space without permission, or reveal that you are our client. Due to the sensitive nature of our work and the high level of trust it requires our clients to place in me, you can be assured of 100% confidentiality when working with The Tidy Rak.

What forms of payment are accepted? ​

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, professional organizing is a great baby shower, wedding or house warming gift. It can also be a great gift if a friend or family member has expressed interest in organizational services.
